Finally! It’s golfing season! As sports go, golfing is one of the easier options to maintain a social distance, plus you get an opportunity to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Langston Golf Course reopened on May 29 as part of the Mayor’s ReOpenDC Stage 1. You can now gather a foursome, or head out for a solo round with the added benefit of online prepayment of greens fees and added sanitation processes across the entire course.
And while your places to get out and golf are many in DC, Langston Golf Course is recognized as one of the few historic courses in the area. The course is named for the first African-American elected to public office, and continues to advocate for youth and family outreach programs in the region. For that reason, it’s a popular choice for golfers of all ages. Visit the website to sign up for a tee time, or to learn about the driving range and on-site pro shop. The popular Langston Grille is currently closed due to the pandemic, but hopes to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
