Looking for things to do in DC over Thanksgiving? Head to the starting line at the 18th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger! Because before you tuck into your Turkey Day feast, you should make sure that the rest of D.C. has the opportunity to do the same—including less fortunate families and seniors. When you participate in the race, you’ll be doing just that. A portion of your registration fee goes right back out into the community via organizations that help to feed, house, and otherwise give a leg up to your fellow D.C. residents.
On Thanksgiving morning, join your fellow runners at the Freedom Plaza to start your race at 9 a.m. (timed) or 9:15 a.m. (untimed). Enjoy your leisurely 5K jaunt around the city before returning to the plaza for a big bash at the finish line, including live entertainment, music, and games.
