It’s been a century since Congress passed the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. In the decades since, women have become an integral part of the fabric of civic life. To celebrate this fact, the Constitutional walking tour is coming back to Capitol Hill for the second year on Saturday, October 19th.
Local bars and restaurants will offer special themed libations to tour-goers from 2 to 5 p.m. Refill your commemorative cup at each stop of the self-guided tour, which will teach you about the many ways suffragists pushed for their rights back in the early 20th century. Five tastings are included in your ticket ($35), along with other discounts from the participating businesses. You can opt for a guided VIP tour if you splurge for the more expensive option ($85).
